Pension Wise Guidance Specialist
Salary: £24,000 per annum pro-rata
Hours: Various, including full-time, 37.5 hrs/wk. Part-time applicants can apply for 2.0, 2.5 or 3 days per week (those applying for 2.5 days per week must actually be able to work 2 days pw one week and then 3 days/wk the next).
Fixed-term: Starting in December if available and January if not, fixed-term until March 31st 2021.
Pension Wise provides guidance on pension freedoms to those aged over 50 with defined contributions schemes, enabling them to make informed choices about their pension pots.
Citizens Advice Taunton is the employer for these vacancies and is part of a group service overseen by Citizens Advice Plymouth. You will work from a variety of offices, and meet a large number of clients. The service is funded by the Department for Work & Pensions, and is an important part of our Citizens Advice offer. This post will see clients in locations such as East Devon, Shepton Mallet, Taunton and Weston-super-Mare.

Volunteer Position – Treasurer
Time commitment: 1-2 hours per week, including 2 quarterly (early evening) meetings
Overview of role: Citizens Advice Taunton provides a range of advice services covering subjects including housing, debt, welfare rights and employment, enabling people to resolve critical situations in their lives.
We are looking for a qualified accountant to replace our Treasurer who is reaching the end of their term. You will work in particular with the Chief Officer and Finance Manager to; ensure sure financial systems are kept in order; ensure we remain compliant with accounting standards; and analyse the consequences of financial plans and proposals. You will also chair the Finance Committee.
The treasurer is an officer of the Trustee Board and this is therefore an unpaid role.

Part-time Vacancy – Universal Credit: Help to Claim Adviser
Citizens Advice Taunton delivers a service called “Universal Credit: Help to Claim” which offers end-to-end support to check whether Universal Credit is the right benefit to claim, help people make a new Universal Credit claim and be ready for when their first payment arrives.
We are looking for a UC Help to Claim adviser with good IT skills to deliver the service, support volunteer advisers with Help to Claim and help gather essential information about how the service is performing. You will also have a commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice Service.
